Monica Galetti

Monica is Senior Sous Chef at Le Gavroche in London and she is best known for co-presenting and judging BBC Two’s MasterChef: The Professionals

Monica used to work as a senior sous-chef at the renowned Le Gavroche restaurant in London, and is currently the proprietor of Mere, an upscale French cuisine restaurant in the heart of the British capital city  She is also known for co-presenting and judging BBC Two’s MasterChef: The Professionals along with Gregg Wallace and Michel Roux JR.

She most recently appeared on our screens in Autumn 2012 for the fourth series of the hugely popular competition for professional chefs.

She has worked with Michel Roux JR for more than six years. She trained in New Zealand and whilst travelling around Europe, sent her CV to Le Gavroche. Michel employed her in 2000 and since then she has worked her way up through the kitchen, becoming the first woman to ever cook on Meat and Fish, before setting up Le Gavroche des Tropiques in Mauritius.

Monica now juggles her time between Le Gavroche, her role in MasterChef: The Professionals and being a mother to Anais Emily, who was born in 2006.

In early 2002, she was announced as a judge on The Platinum Pudding Competition, a nationwide baking contest that aims to find a new pudding dedicated to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
